Everything that governs how you use LookAfterAI— what we promise, what we ask of you, and the limits of what an AI-assisted health tool can do.
Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our mobile application and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1.Who can use the Service
By using the Service, you confirm that:
- You are legally capable of entering into these Terms, or you have consent from a parent/guardian to use the Service.
- If you are using the Service on behalf of someone else (for example a child, parent, or other dependent), you have the legal right and permission to enter information and manage their data.
2.What the Service does
The Service is a health and wellness support app. It helps you:
- Log daily routines and health-related information (for example, sleep, meals, activity, symptoms).
- View trends and patterns.
- Receive AI-assisted summaries, educational content, and nudges to support better habits.
The Service is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. LookAfter AI is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
3.Not a medical device
LookAfter AI does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. Content generated by the app — including lab interpretations, supplement suggestions, daily insights, and monthly reports — is informational and educational only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.
4.No medical advice
Information generated by the assistant is informational and educational only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. LookAfter AI does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.
Any information in the app, including AI-generated responses, summaries, and suggestions:
- Is not medical or mental health advice.
- Does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–patient, or other professional relationship.
- Should not be used to diagnose or treat any medical condition.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before:
- Making decisions about medication or treatment.
- Ignoring or delaying medical care because of something you saw in the app.
- Acting on new or worsening symptoms.
If you think you may be experiencing a medical emergency or are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a licensed professional immediately. Do not rely on the app.
5.Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and honest information when using the Service.
- Keep your login details and device secure.
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes.
- Not attempt to interfere with the Service, its security, or other users.
- Use your own judgment and professional medical advice when interpreting any information from the app.
You are responsible for any decisions you make based on information you enter into or receive from the Service.
6.AI and automation
The Service uses AI models and retrieval systems (including our own RAG setup and a Gemini wrapper running on Vertex AI) to generate certain responses and summaries.
AI outputs:
- May sometimes be incomplete, incorrect, or not suitable for your specific situation.
- Can miss important context or nuance.
- Should never be the only source you rely on for health decisions.
You must treat AI-generated output as informational only and always consider speaking to a professional.
7.Privacy and data
We collect and process personal data and health-related information as part of providing the Service. This includes data you enter (such as logs and notes) and technical usage data.
How we collect, use, store, and share data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.
8.Health data & Apple Health / Google Health Connect
If you grant access to Apple Health (iOS) or Google Health Connect (Android), you authorise LookAfter AI to read the health metrics you approve solely to pre-fill your daily log and provide personalised insights. You can revoke this access at any time in your device settings.
9.Changes to the Service
We may update or change the Service over time, including adding or removing features. We are not responsible if the Service is:
- Temporarily unavailable.
- Not compatible with your device or operating system.
- Experiencing bugs, errors, or interruptions.
We may also stop offering the Service or certain features at any time.
10.Account suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:
- You violate these Terms.
- You misuse or abuse the Service.
- We are required to do so by law or for security reasons.
You may stop using the Service at any time. Account deletion and data deletion will follow the process described in the app and in the Privacy Policy.
11.Account deletion
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is a two-step process: your account is immediately deactivated and all sessions are revoked; your data is permanently erased after a 30-day grace period. Logging back in during those 30 days cancels the deletion. After the grace period, erasure is permanent and irreversible.
12.Intellectual property
The Service, including all software, designs, text, graphics, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law.
You agree not to:
- Copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service.
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except where allowed by law.
- Use our branding or assets without written permission.
You keep ownership of content you submit, but you grant us a limited license to use it as needed to operate and improve the Service.
13.Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we:
- Do not make any promises or warranties about the Service, including accuracy, reliability, availability, or suitability for your needs.
- Do not warrant that AI outputs will always be safe, correct, or appropriate for your personal medical situation.
14.Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, we and our team will not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Loss of data, loss of profits, or other non-direct losses.
- Decisions you make based on information from the Service, including AI responses.
If we are found liable despite this section, our total liability will be limited to the amount you paid for the Service (if any) during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
15.Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us and our team harmless from any claim, demand, or loss arising out of:
- Your use or misuse of the Service.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any rights of another person.
16.Governing law
These Terms will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where our company is established, unless the law of your country requires otherwise for consumer protections.

Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile app and related services (the “Service”).
1.Scope
This Policy applies to:
- Users who create an account for themselves.
- Users who log and manage data on behalf of others (for example, children, parents, or dependents).
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2.Data we collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account info: name and email address
- Health logs you create: sleep, mood, energy, symptoms, cycle data, exercise, meals, and any other fields you fill in
- Lab reports you upload: PDF, Word, Excel, or CSV files containing blood test or medical results
- Health data from Apple Health (iOS) or Google Health Connect (Android) — only if you grant permission
- Goals and family circle data you set up
- AI chat messages and their responses
- Device push notification token (for reminders)
- App diagnostics and crash reports
3.How we use data
- To operate the service and generate personalised AI health insights
- To build your monthly health reports and daily log summaries
- To power the AI assistant with answers grounded in your actual data
- To send you reminders and family nudges you have opted into
- To maintain your streak, goals, and family circle
- We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
4.Apple Health (HealthKit) — iOS only
On iOS, LookAfter AI can read data from Apple Health including steps, sleep duration, heart rate, heart rate variability, menstrual cycle data, body weight, and other metrics you authorise. This data is used solely to pre-fill your daily health log and provide personalised insights within the app. HealthKit data is never sold, never shared with advertising networks or data brokers, and never used for any purpose unrelated to your use of LookAfter AI. You can grant or revoke HealthKit access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → LookAfter AI.
5.Google Health Connect — Android only
On Android, LookAfter AI can read data from Google Health Connect including steps, distance, calories, sleep, heart rate, blood pressure, blood glucose, weight, menstrual cycle, and other metrics you authorise. This data is used solely to pre-fill your daily health log and provide personalised insights within the app. Health Connect data is never sold, never shared with advertising networks or data brokers, and never used for any purpose unrelated to your use of LookAfter AI. You can grant or revoke Health Connect permissions at any time in Android Settings → Apps → LookAfter AI → Permissions, or through the Health Connect app.
6.AI and data processing
We use our own retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) setup and a Gemini wrapper running on Google Cloud Vertex AI to generate some responses and summaries.
Key points:
- We do not send your health data to unrelated third-party consumer AI services for advertising or resale.
- AI processing is used to provide features inside the Service (for example, summaries and pattern insights), not for external ad targeting.
- We aim to design the system so it can be operated in a HIPAA-aligned way, but full compliance also depends on your plan, our contracts (such as BAAs), and the overall architecture.
7.Storage and security
We currently store data in Neon (a managed PostgreSQL platform). Neon publicly states that it supports HIPAA-compliant workloads, with features such as encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, logging, and independent audits. You should understand that:
- Neon provides secure infrastructure, but our own application design, access policies, and contracts also matter for protecting your data.
- No system is 100% secure, but we use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.
- We recommend you use strong passwords, enable OS-level device security, and keep your app updated.
8.Sub-processors
We use the following third-party services to operate the Service:
- Google Cloud (Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, Vertex AI) — compute, storage, and AI inference
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — push notification delivery on Android
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — push notification delivery on iOS
When you use the AI assistant or request a lab analysis, relevant excerpts of your health data are sent to Google Vertex AI (Gemini) running in our Google Cloud project. Google processes this data as a data processor under our instructions and does not use it to train its own models or for any purpose outside serving your request.
We do not share your personal health data with advertisers or data brokers.
8A.Push notifications & family nudges
When you send a nudge to a family member (for example, “Mom, did you eat? — Ganesh”), the text you type is delivered through Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). These services sit outside our HIPAA Business Associate Agreement scope, so the notification body can be seen by the recipient device's operating system and may transit Apple/Google infrastructure in plain form. The names, relationships, and short prompts you type into a family nudge will leave our HIPAA-aligned environment when delivered as a push. For your protection we do not include sensitive medical content (lab values, symptoms, diagnoses, medications, cycle or fertility details, mental-health phrasing, or AI-generated insights) in push notification text — those items are referenced only by a generic title plus a deep link that opens the app, where the actual content is fetched over our secure channel. Please avoid typing sensitive medical details into the free-text nudge field; you can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.
9.Data retention
We keep your information for as long as needed to:
- Provide the Service.
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
- Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
If you choose to delete your account, we will handle your data according to the in-app deletion process and applicable laws. Some aggregated or anonymized data may be kept, but it will no longer be tied to your identity.
10.Your rights
Depending on your country or region, you have the following rights:
- Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction: update inaccurate data in-app or by contacting us
- Deletion: delete your account in Settings → Delete Account. Your account is soft-deleted immediately (all sessions revoked); your data is permanently erased after a 30-day grace period, during which you can cancel by logging back in
- Revoke health permissions: revoke Apple Health or Health Connect access at any time in your device settings
- Opt out of push notifications: disable in device settings
You can submit requests using the contact details inside the app or on our website. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
11.Account deletion & data retention
When you delete your account, your sessions and push tokens are revoked immediately. Your personal data — including all health logs, lab reports, AI chat history, monthly reports, and family circle data — is permanently and irreversibly erased after a 30-day grace period. If you log back in during those 30 days, the deletion is cancelled. After the grace period, erasure includes all files in cloud storage and all database records; this cannot be undone.
12.Children and dependents
If you use the Service to track information for a child or dependent, you confirm that you have the legal authority to provide and manage that data. We take extra care with these profiles, but their privacy is ultimately linked to the account holder's security practices.
13.International data transfers
Our infrastructure and service providers may be located in different countries. This means your information may be processed outside of your home country. Where required by law, we will use appropriate safeguards (for example, contractual clauses) to protect your data.
14.Security limits
While we use reasonable measures to protect your information, no online system can be completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
15.Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app, by email, or through other appropriate channels. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect may be treated as acceptance of the updated Policy where allowed by law.

Our app uses artificial intelligence (AI) to generate certain answers, summaries, and suggestions based on the information you provide. This disclaimer explains important limitations of those features.

3.Emergencies
Do not use the app for emergencies or crisis situations.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency (chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden severe pain, signs of stroke, or suicidal thoughts), call your local emergency number immediately. Do not use this app to seek emergency care.
4.Lab interpretation
Blood test reference ranges vary by laboratory and population. Interpretations shown in this app are general guidance only. Bring reports to your doctor for definitive interpretation.
5.Supplement & nutrition guidance
Supplement suggestions are general wellness guidance, not medical prescriptions. Consult your doctor before starting any supplement if you take medications or have a diagnosed condition.
6.AI accuracy
AI-generated content may contain errors. Do not act solely on AI-generated health information without verification from a qualified professional.
7.Limitations of AI
AI responses:
- May be incomplete, incorrect, or not fully relevant to your situation.
- May miss important details, especially if the information you provide is limited or unclear.
- May not always reflect the latest medical guidelines or research.
- Are generated automatically and are not reviewed in real-time by a human clinician.
You should never treat AI responses as a final or guaranteed answer.
8.Your responsibility
You are responsible for:
- Carefully reviewing any AI-generated content.
- Deciding whether to act on it or ignore it.
- Consulting a healthcare professional when you have questions or concerns about your health.
Do not stop or change medication, ignore medical advice, or delay seeking care because of something you read in the app.
9.No professional relationship
Using the app and its AI features:
- Does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–patient, or any other professional relationship.
- Does not mean that any licensed professional is monitoring your data in real time.
The app is a tool to help you track and understand your health better, not a replacement for professional care.
